Ingredients
- 2 cups full-fat milk powder
- 1 cup condensed milk
- 2 tbsp ghee (clarified butter)
- 1/2 tsp cardamom powder
- Chopped nuts (almonds, pistachios) for garnish
- A pinch of saffron strands (optional)
Instructions
Heat Ghee: In a non-stick pan, heat the ghee on low flame.
Add Milk Powder: Once the ghee melts, add the milk powder and mix well. Cook for a minute.
Incorporate Condensed Milk: Gradually add the condensed milk, stirring continuously to avoid lumps. Cook until the mixture thickens and starts to leave the sides of the pan (about 5-7 minutes).
Flavor: Add cardamom powder and saffron (if using), and mix well.
Cool the Mixture: Remove from heat and let it cool slightly until you can handle it.
Shape the Peda: Grease your palms with ghee and take small portions of the mixture. Roll them into small balls or flatten them into discs.
Garnish: Press a piece of chopped nut into the center of each peda for decoration.
Serve: Allow the pedas to cool completely before serving. Store in an airtight container.
Enjoy!
