Melt-in-the-Mouth Peda

Ingredients

  • 2 cups full-fat milk powder
  • 1 cup condensed milk
  • 2 tbsp ghee (clarified butter)
  • 1/2 tsp cardamom powder
  • Chopped nuts (almonds, pistachios) for garnish
  • A pinch of saffron strands (optional)

Instructions

  1. Heat Ghee: In a non-stick pan, heat the ghee on low flame.

  2. Add Milk Powder: Once the ghee melts, add the milk powder and mix well. Cook for a minute.

  3. Incorporate Condensed Milk: Gradually add the condensed milk, stirring continuously to avoid lumps. Cook until the mixture thickens and starts to leave the sides of the pan (about 5-7 minutes).

  4. Flavor: Add cardamom powder and saffron (if using), and mix well.

  5. Cool the Mixture: Remove from heat and let it cool slightly until you can handle it.

  6. Shape the Peda: Grease your palms with ghee and take small portions of the mixture. Roll them into small balls or flatten them into discs.

  7. Garnish: Press a piece of chopped nut into the center of each peda for decoration.

  8. Serve: Allow the pedas to cool completely before serving. Store in an airtight container.

Enjoy!

These delightful pedas are perfect for festivals, celebrations, or just a sweet treat!
