Ingredients:
1 cup jowar (sorghum) grains, soaked overnight and drained
1 tbsp oil
1/2 tsp mustard seeds
1/2 tsp cumin seeds
1/4 tsp turmeric powder
1 onion, finely chopped
1 green chili, slit
1 small tomato, chopped
1/4 cup carrots, finely chopped
1/4 cup peas
1/4 cup capsicum, chopped
5-6 curry leaves
Salt, to taste
Fresh coriander leaves, chopped for garnish
2 cups water
Preparation Method:
1. Heat oil in a pan. Add mustard seeds and let them splutter, then add cumin seeds, green chili, and curry leaves.
2. Add chopped onions and sauté until they turn translucent. Add turmeric powder and stir well.
3. Add tomatoes and cook until soft, then add carrots, peas, and capsicum. Cook for 2-3 minutes.
4. Add the soaked jowar grains to the pan, mix well with the vegetables, and add salt.
5. Pour in water, cover, and cook on medium heat until the jowar grains are soft and all water is absorbed (about 15-20 minutes). Stir occasionally to avoid sticking.
6. Garnish with fresh coriander leaves before serving.
