Ingredients:
- 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1 tsp baking soda
- ½ tsp salt
- 1 cup yogurt (plain or Greek)
- ½ cup vegetable oil
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- ½ cup milk (or a non-dairy alternative)
- 1 tbsp vinegar (white or apple cider)
Instructions:
Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour an 8-inch round cake pan or line it with parchment paper.
Mix Dry Ingredients: In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
Combine Wet Ingredients: In another bowl, mix the yogurt, vegetable oil, vanilla extract, milk, and vinegar until well combined.
Combine Mixtures: Pour the wet mixture into the dry ingredients. Gently fold the mixture until just combined. Be careful not to overmix; some lumps are okay.
Bake: Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan. Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
Cool: Let the cake cool in the pan for about 10 minutes, then transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely.
Serve: You can enjoy it plain, dusted with powdered sugar, or frosted with your favorite icing!
Tips:
- For added flavor, you can mix in some lemon or orange zest.
- You can also add chocolate chips or nuts for extra texture.
Enjoy your baking!
