Crispy Veggie Balls | Indian-Style Snack


 

🧂 Ingredients

  • 2 medium potatoes (boiled and mashed)
  • ½ cup grated carrots
  • ½ cup chopped spring onions
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • ½ tsp paprika or red chilli powder (optional)
  • 3 tbsp cornstarch
  • 1–2 tbsp all-purpose flour (if needed for binding)
  • Oil for deep frying

🍽️ Optional Add-ins

  • Chopped green chillies for heat
  • Chopped coriander or mint for freshness
  • A pinch of garam masala for depth

🔥 Instructions

1. Prep the Veggie Mix

  • In a large bowl, combine mashed potatoes, grated carrots, spring onions, chopped onion, and garlic.
  • Add salt, pepper, paprika, and cornstarch. Mix well.
  • If the mixture feels too soft, add a spoonful of flour to help bind.

2. Shape the Balls

  • Grease your palms and roll the mixture into small balls (ping-pong size).
  • Chill in the fridge for 10–15 minutes to firm up.

3. Fry Until Golden

  • Heat oil in a deep pan over medium heat.
  • Fry the veggie balls in batches until golden brown and crispy.
  • Drain on paper towels.
